These corporate entities were established by Danny and Judy Simmons for the purpose of manufacturing and selling carpet to consumers and homebuilders through use of direct market advertising and sales. Established in 1974, by the 1990s S&S Mills had become the largest direct-sales carpet manufacturer in the United States. These records also document the advertising and marketing campaigns of The Aslan Group and BKV Marketing, the two primary advertising and marketing agencies employed by S&S Mills in its direct sales eforts. Majority of documents cover the years 1990--2002 which represented the height of all four companies growth and sales, and their advertising and marketing campaigns.
