Sixth Cavalry troopers advancing on foot across a snow covered field in Luxemburg during the Battle of the Bulge in January 1945. Eight troopers are seen from a distance as the move to the top of a ridge bounded by trees. The lines of their footprints are visible in the foreground. A note written on the reverse side reads: "A Troop making a dismounted attack during the drive for Harlange. One of our most costly engagements. Luxemburg Jan 45." |
