6th Cavalry Regiment, Troop "D" posing on the steps of a building on Barnhardt Circle, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, December 18, 1923. The first row sits on bleachers with their rifles grounded. The second row stands with rifles at port arms. The troop flag is held at the right, and also hangs over the building entrance. Caption on reverse indicates that John Grant sits fourth from the left on the first row--marked by blue star. Grant's name is also written above the photograph on the backer board. |
