Description |
"Blue Jay" a horse ridden by a trooper of the 6th Cavalry Regiment's Machine Gun troop. Blue Jay is loaded with equipment, most prominently the barrel for a Browning M1917, water cooled, .30 caliber machine gun. Notes written on the image inform that Blue Jay was 33 years old at the time of the photograph and was killed on February 15, 1940, and the photograph was donated by Fred J. Ellenburg. |
