Black and white image of 2016.001.0041 Thornton Avenue, Dalton, Georgia. Caption reads: "415-Thornton Avenue, showing Confederate Monument, Dalton, Ga." View is looking south towards Presbyterian Church. Confederate Monument was erected in 1898. Street divides at the park enclosing the Monument. Both sides of unpaved street have paved sidewalks lined with trees. 1 cent stamp and postmark dated February 12, (year ?) is on the reverse side. Postcard is addressed to Miss Edna Watson, No. 2402 S. 18th St., St. Joseph, Mo. Message written on Left margin reads: 'Rec. your letter," message written on bottom margin reads: "Will Write soon." |
